Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Well. We were upset with this restaurant tonight because the food was just terrible . How the hell can you screw up chicken parm. Well you can , use the cheapest mozzarella you can find and overlook the Damn cutlet and the poor dried up side of rigatoni was awful. Had to ask for sauce to try and salvage it!!' My husband ordered a ravioli that was so overlooked that the ricotta inside was dried and separated ! The al credo sauce he ordered looked and tasted like straight up MILK. It was gross to say the least , the salad was ok except it was not cut well and I felt there was too much water left on the leaves which I turn gives you a watery caeser dressing , I was hungry so I just ate it . We go to Cirellas on Long Island a lot and let me tell you , you can't tell these two are related! I asked to speak to the floor manager and in hindsight I should have sent both of those meals back !!!' I was looking forward to a nice Italian meal which now became even harder to find in this area . By the way this was no early bird special either , I thought if I ordered off the regular menu it would not be the crap turned out at early bird , that will teach me ! I'll stick with Long Island when it comes to Cirellas I was so disappointed . Now I have to go back to the time share at Hyatt and tell the people I reverted there for tomorrow not to go !. It is terrible when you send someone to a place when it used to be quality and now it's not !

The best Sushi Place in the Naples/Bonita Area

Made an impromptu decision to have dinner here. We were seated right away, but if that one table was not available, they estimated a 40-minute wait. They do take reservations! The service was great and the food arrived quickly. I had the Cirella's salad for two (shared with someone else) and the vegetarian roll. The garlic bread bites were amazing too!

We were seated pretty quickly. The menu was very diversified, and the service was excellent. The sushi was delicious according to all of us, as was the Italian. Only thing I'd say is that you need a reservation, or they can't guarantee you a table fast. Also, the chicken parm my daughter got came out a little cold. Otherwise, excellent

A MUST GO! Get the Bolognese. Best. Ever. Service was excellent, food even better. Another hit was the linguini and white clam sauce... So many clams! We were here on a Tuesday night and will be returning on Friday night to try the sushi.

When we arrived without a reservation and a 75% vacancy , we asked for a table of three. The hostess acted like she wanted us to leave and then said, "I can seat you outside", we wanted to sit inside and this was a dilemma for her. Why, I don't know but, my blood had started to boil at this point. I wanted to leave because it can only go downhill from there. Somehow, we were "privileged" enough to receive a table that was built for two people but had 4 chairs at it. Whatever, no tablecloth, no breadsticks, and no salt. Very weird. The bread they provided was too sweet and just not very good. The food was very medium. I would expect this at carabba's or olive garden but at this place. It seems lifeless and feels like they are struggling. I wish this place was better or at least had a better attitude, it is close to home and we would like to stick around town. It will be a long time before we go back, if we go back. This is the second time in a row where we had a poor experience. Our server did an excellent job meeting our needs.

I really like the food at Cirella's. The sushi/italian combo is great with very innovative concepts. The cooked sushi is terrific. Service is efficient and pleasant. No doubt about returning.

Really good food with unique combo of sushi and Italian both done very well. Owner there greeting and seating entire experience was spot on, in a place spacious enough for privacy without feeling like you are eating in a strip mall warehouse space. Tuna tartar app, caprese, and pesto gnocchi were exceptional quality and portion size. Marisa was great with service and her wine suggestions were most helpful. Love the fact that kitchen isnt enslaved to preparing solely by menu; but, will accommodate any reasonable request. Be going back soon

Very solid if not very good Italian restaurant in south Florida. Could be four stars if they would upgrade menu. They certainly can cook interesting food, but imagination for entrees were simple. Food well prepared, wine list a little disjointed. But not horrible. If in area a very good choice to stop.

Lets say you are with a group of people...or just two...and some want Italian, and others want Sushi...what a pickle you may find yourself in in choosing. Unless of course you know a place called Cirella's. They offer great tasting Italian dishes that are presented well at above average prices. They also offer a sushi menu that is not anything you would find on Jiro Dreams of Sushi, but is perfect for all the mainstream trendies that need to get their jollies going. If you are in the BS area, this is a good stop to make for a meal...I have been several times thus far, and am always satisfied. Cheers!

Second time diner. Really enjoyed the ravioli with Alfredo sauce. If you like nutmeg it had a nice taste. We also tried sushi which is fantastic. Decent wine list and Cirella's is suitable for children.
(5)Gary C.
Don't bother. Very disappointing. Plus on top of already high prices there is a $4 charge to share a plate. You need to be an "award member" for some specials. The outside table were grossly dirty. Plus the seating was very uncomfortable. Service was so so. We had a risotto dish and veal scampinni. There must be better options.

Ahhh so full!!! But the good review comes later. We came in while waiting for a movie at the Prado Stadium theatre (name drop!). Very nice layout, feels full of furniture while still being open. Neutral earth tones fill the room setting a very calming mood. Bar is a nice granite bar top and just adds a nice touch of class. The garlic knots they give out are tremendously addicting, so good! I got the chicken Parmesan and my wife got the eggplant paremesan. The chicken parm was very good and so filling, very, very cheesy! She liked hers but said the breading on hers was soggy, mine wasn't, but very cheesy as well. Overall it was very good and gets an easy 4/5. Not the place to kill time for a movie because it is on the pricey side but a nice dinner date place!

Dec 29, 2013 Six of us had a fine dinner served by attentive staff. We all ate from the Italian menu and not the sushi menu. The place was packed and we sat outside and that was excellent.

My family and I have had many visits to the area within the last 13 years and have visited many restaurants. By far, this is the best Italian restaurant and one of the best overall. Great service, exceptional food with large portions, nightly specials and even SUSHI that I would put up against any sushi restaurant. That's right, sushi and Italian together, what a great combination. I frequent the Cirellas restaurant in N.Y., but this one is my favorite. A must try when visiting SW Florida.
(5)Fabian L.
This place is the best. Visiting from chicago , stopped here and it was very good. The ambience is very nice and relaxing. I ordered the "personal pizza" reason for the "" was because it was huge. Didn't realize it said 12" at the top. Definitely could feed two people maybe three. By far the best restaurant that I have been to down here in Bonita springs florida.
(5)Caroline C.
Excellent Italian food and amazing sushi. Great service and atmosphere. My favorite restaurant for sure!
(5)Louanne S.
This place is worth going to! I went two times and both times were amazing! The lasagna, which was recommended by the owner, was so good that I wanted to take my leftovers home which really was the equivalent of about 2 bites! Everyone with with me was raving about their meals and would definitely go back. The staff was so friendly. This is old school Italian, as it should be. The owners should be so proud of what they're doing because they are doing it right! I cannot wait to go back!
(5)Trish G.
Amazing food (both the sushi and the Italian), great service and wonderful, home-y atmosphere. Highly recommend!
(5)Scott F.
Decided to come here at the last minute on a Sunday night and were sat immediately outside. We were very happy to see a sushi and Italian combination, our two favorite cuisines! We started with a volcano roll which was a California roll with crab and scallops on top. It was probably the second best sushi we ever had, first being sushi in Hawaii. The garlic knots were also delicious. My wife got linguini and clams and I had chicken parm. Both very good. We come down to Estero once a year and will definitely go to Cirella's each trip we make!
(5)Renee N.
Awesome food and service! Been many times for Italian and sushi ... Enjoyed the food every time. Never a bad meal. The service is spot on, not to pushy while being very attentive. As soon as your ready for your next glass of wine the server is there to help. We had the veil piccata and Sunday sauce w pasta -- will be back soon to enjoy these dishes again!

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand the food is good, but on the other it is significantly overpriced. So, for the tourist interested in solid Italian food with little regard for value, go ahead and give Cirella's a shot. But for residents who want good food at fair prices look elsewhere.

I'd like to start off by saying it was very dim in the restaurant to the point where my grandma had to sit funny just to get some light to read the huge menu they had, but with that being said. I enjoyed Cirella's, the food was outstanding, my grandma had the margarita pizza that looked fantastic, and I had the chicken parm, I've never been to Cirella's before so I thought to play it safe with the chicken parm I mean what Italian restaurant can't make a decent to good chicken parm? And well it exceeded my expectations! The flavor was outstanding, the sauce was perfect. The chicken had a nice crisp to it in every bite and the cheese ohh the cheese was perfectly melted on top, the rigatoni that comes on the side was also very nicely cooked with the house pasta sauce all over! It was a scrumptious entree. And after enjoying that I was stuffed but I was given a recommendation from my grandmas friend on the tiramisu, and so I said what the hell...and folks this was the best darn tiramisu I've ever had, so fluffy, great flavor, you aren't over powered by the coffee like in most. It was out of this world! I hope you have the same experience I had. I will definitely be back soon.

Good food. Service lacked

This is a lovely place. We've been wanting to come here for quite some time, based upon excellent reviews. We came on a Saturday night and they were packed with a 1 hour wait for a table, so we opted for immediate seating at the sushi bar. I know, sushi in an Italian restaurant? We had, nevertheless, a great meal: Penne Alla Pesto, including grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes & mozzarella and Linguine & Vongole with clams in a light white sauce. Both pastas were al dente and dishes were perfect, we thought. All washed down with a chianti. Thanks restaurant.com ! The service and ambiance were also excellent.

Outstanding sushi! In an Italian place? Yes! Our visit was fantastic and we will return on our next visit. Members in our party all had the Italian selections on the menu, all parties happen to be Italian, their assessment was that the meals were outstanding and authentic. The sushi was excellent. I eat a lot of sushi at many very fine and authentic Japanese Restaurants and I will say the the sushi at Cirella's is on par with the best. We dined off season and the place was packed. Can't imagine what season is like. Again, a definite must visit. September 7th 2013 update: we returned hoping for another outstanding meal....disappointed. The sushi had no taste, bland and uninspiring. The Italian meals our party got we're average. Very disappointing. We took it off our list of next years visit

It's nice to have the option of size for your meal. The service was a little slow, we saw others that arrived after us get served before us. The ambiance was welcoming & there is outside seating as well. I had the soup & the white beans were undercooked & a little hard. The pasta a la vodka was a little heavy on the sauce but very tasty. Hubby had sushi & could not have been happier! The sushi rolls are thick with meat & not rice & very fresh. We were too full for dessert.

Yep Sushi & Italian. Of course I was skeptical but was assured by my local guide that both were quite well done. We sat on the patio, which despite being on the sidewalk of a strip mall, is actually quite lovely. Lots of planters and screens, to ahem, soften that parking lot next to you. A round of Mojoitos and an order of calamari were up first. And not just any preparation on tasty squids, this was the house specialty, made with spicy peppers and tomato sauce. Fantastic & not too spicy but a huge portion, best to be shared with more than 2. After the enormous appetizer we only had room for one roll. The eel roll was great- I normally am not a fan of cream cheese in my sushi but this had just the teeniest amount. And it worked for me! So can't decide between Italian or Sushi? Love Sushi but your date doesn't? Go here and everybody wins!

As a tourist, I was very dissatisfied with Cirello's. We had a restaurant.com coupon that we could not use because 2 of our 4 person party chose from the "early bird menu". My coupon was shown to the waitress before ordering, but she did not tell us we could not use it if we ordered off that menu. The food and service was poor. All in all I do not recommend this restaurant.

The food gets 4 stars - our antipasto platter (stated for 2 but could have fed 4) was great and both of our main entrees were very good too. Although I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which had a choice of traditional or chicken meatballs. I ordered traditional but was given chicken but it was okay as I still enjoyed it. However the service was terrible. Our waitress had half the tables in the restaurant and the patio so she was running raged. I had no water most of the meal after requesting it and had eaten most of my pasta before we were given the parmesan cheese we wanted. We also waited a long time to get the bill and then to get our credit card back which with a 1 year old in tow was not the easiest. Bottom line with more staff this place could be great.

A genuine New York italian joint in Florida. Curiously offering a good looking sushi menu as well as the usual pasta, meat and seafood favourites. We didn't partake in the sushi, so can't comment on it other than it was there. Our bruschetta appetiser was OK - a little bland. The entrees were fantastic: linguine with clams and veal parmigiani with fried spinach were delicious. Portions are large - we had enough leftovers for another meal. Value for money is good too - the veal was the priciest of the lot at $35 and the total bill came to $88 for a shared appetiser, two entrees, one side, one glass of wine and one bottle of water, which I think represents good value compared to big city prices. Recommended and easily accessible from Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs.

Great italian food- since I don't eat sushi it would be difficult for me to review this part of their menu, but friends love their special rolls. Very friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Their red sauce or gravy is as good as I've had anywhere.
(5)Bruce S.
Yes. Italian & Sushi. It can be done. Good vegetarian options on the Italian side. Kid friendly, my son enjohed the oranges from my wifes sushi along with my ziti.
(5)Tony D.
We've been in Bonita for a few years and just found this place. It was womderful and the service matched the food. I had veal and my wife had a chicken dish. Both were fabulous. The bar was comfortable and Dino the bartender is a great guy. We can't wait to go back.
(5)Deborah F.
The wait staff was inattentive except for the busboy who constantly hovered wanting to clear as soon as we were served. The wine was undrinkable. We conplained to the waitress who just shrugged her shoulders. The soup was watery. We felt rushed. Don't bother going here. There are plenty of other restaurants around!

The best. Great food and great staff. Dino needs a raise.

I was initially surprised to see sushi in the menu for an Italian restaurant but had very good Penne Alla Pesto. My wife had chicken parmigiana which was good too. Seating was little too cozy but very good service...
